Vision Service Plan (VSP)

An optional program for benefits-eligible employees, providing exams, contacts, frames and/or lenses at affordable prices. VSP network doctors provide top quality care and offer a wide selection of frames to choose from, all in one convenient location. For more information, please call 1-800-877-7195 or visit www.vsp.com.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Benefits-eligible employees may elect to have a portion of their salary deducted on a pre-tax basis to pay for medical and/or dependent care expenses. Use of these salary conversion dollars also reduces the amount of gross income subject to income taxes and social security.

Life Insurance

Bridgeport Hospital automatically enrolls benefits-eligible employees in life insurance equal to one times their annual salary (to a maximum sum of $50,000) at no cost. Employees also have the option of purchasing (with post-tax dollars) additional insurance up to five times their annual base salary. Spouse & child life insurance is also available.
